Slovenia Blocks Israeli Charter Flight from Landing Over Permit Issues
The aircraft, operated by Croatian airline Trade Air on behalf of Israir, was unable to proceed with its planned landing in Slovenia due to what authorities cited as missing required permits. As a result, the flight was redirected to Croatia.
Israir Chief Executive Officer Uri Sirkis criticized the decision, describing it as politically motivated.
He called the move "political," claiming that it was caused by Slovenia's "clear opposition to the policies and direction pursued by Israel.”
As of Wednesday, Slovenian authorities had not publicly commented on the incident or provided further details regarding the refusal to authorize the landing.
The episode comes amid heightened international scrutiny of Israeli policies and reflects growing diplomatic sensitivities surrounding aviation and travel-related matters involving Israel.
